Verizon Wireless has aired a new ad to promote its 3G network and the ad features Apple iPad 2 in it. Like usual Verizon ads this one too focuses on how reliable Verizon’s 3G network is on the iPad by using which users can download iBooks and use Twitter even when they are miles away from the nearest Wi-Fi hotspot. This is so far the first ad for iPad 2 that has been made by someone other than Apple itself, and i think they have done a pretty decent job with this one.

From the makers of insanely popular game Fruit Ninja, JetPack Joyride game for iOS packs crazy gameplay that in my humble opinion will not fail to impress most of the iOS games out there. The official trailer of this game is now live on Youtube and the game is going to hit the App Store on 1st September 2011 according to its creator HalfBrick Studios.

Jetpack Joyride features a lot of awesome vehicles and all of them are unique in their capabilities. The game features a cool character named Barry Steakfries who is wearing a jetpack that he stole from a secret laboratory that shoots bullets and smoke, and can also transform into different vehicles.

Initially the game will feature 5 different vehicles, but don’t worry as the team is already testing a total of 12 prototype vehicles that will be added to the game in coming updates.

9To5Mac reports that the newly released iOS 5 beta 1 allows users to export video files in 1080p. iOS 5 maximizes the resolution of video exports from 720p to 1080p, allowing users to send high quality videos to their friends via email. The strings found by 9to5Mac also point out that the developer beta also confirm that developers will be able to activate 1080p video exports through their apps as well. Currently in iOS 4 developers can only export 720p videos.

Programmers use the AVAsset class to work on a detailed level with timed media assets such as videos and sounds. It lets them examine, create, edit or reencode media files, get input streams from devices, manipulate video clips during realtime capture and playback and more. It is now clear that iOS 5 enables devices such as iPhone 4, iPad 1 and 2 and fourth-generation iPod touch to both decode 1080p videos and encode content in 1080p. This completes the picture and is another indication that the rumors of an eight-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture on iPhone 5 are likely true because there is no point in iOS 5 supporting 1080p video exports if users won’t be able to acquire full-HD content on their iPhone 5.

9to5Mac also points out that iOS 5 allows users to load 1080p videos on their iPhone 4 and send them to others in 1080p via email. It even playbacks the 1080p videos without any hesitation and automatically resizes them for iPhone 4′s screen resolution.

Apple is reported to add an 8-megapixel camera in its next iPhone, so does this mean that the next gen iPhone would be able to record videos in 1080p?

Now for you skeptical people who only believe what they see, Youtube user iOSmagic has made a video called “Exclusive Preview on iOS 5″. The video not only shows what features iOS 5 is going to bring to iPad but also proves that iPad truly is a magical device.

Jokes apart, the magician has used the touch interface and graphical animations of the iPad to back his tricks very nicely. If asked, i will give this video a 10/10 in a heartbeat.

Apple has released a new iPad 2 advertisement video and has also posted it on its Youtube channel. As usual the ad is inspiring and targets the general consumer. The ad tells us what iPad users will tell you if you asked them about it. The ad says that the teachers would call it future, CEOs would call it powerful, children would call it magical…and if you asked Apple itself about iPad 2, they would say it is just getting started.

Apple has released a new commercial for iPad 2. And just like the iPad 2 itself, it is awesome. Apple has not targeted competitors nor they have boosted anything unrelated to consumers. The ad simply features iPad 2 and its capabilities. The ad delivers the message that Apple believes in providing good user experience and what’s under the hood does not matter that much.
