Above are two leaked and unpublished banners by T-Mobile Germany that translate as “The iPhone 4 in white. Available from 28/29 April,”. The two banners show different dates, that means the carrier itself does not have exact date of release for this varient of iPhone 4.

As we have reported several times before (Read, Read), white iPhone 4 is well expected to hit the shelves at the end of April, and if these banners turn out to be legit, then Europeans can get their hands on the white iPhone 4 on either 28th or 29th of April.

We have seen many companies advertising Apple products in the past for their own good, and this time it is Amazon that has tried its luck to gain some potential iPhone 5 buyers to its website using the keyword iPhone 5. Actually Amazon is advertising iPhone 5 on Google Adwords and the ad that comes on Google’s advertisment service when term ‘iPhone 5′ is searched says that iPhone 5 is currently available at Amazon.com and qualified orders over $25 will get free shipping.

Anyone who even knows very little about Apple will know that iPhone 5 is not even announced yet and if reports are to be believed then we could even miss the iPhone 5 release this June. The term ‘iPhone 5′ gets 1.5 million hits daily on Google search.

It is really hard to believe that such a huge and well respected company like Amazon itself can perform such a cheap effort to attract visitors to its website and try to fool its customers to buy a product that is not even available yet. BTW the ad takes you to iPhone 4 listing on Amazon.com…poor advertisment.

According to 9to5Mac, Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer in an interview to Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Sony is providing Apple with one of its best image sensors. He also said that due to the tsunami in Japan, their camera image sensor facility in Sendai has been affected so supplying image sensors to Apple will be delayed.

“Our best senor technology is built in one of the (tsunami) affected factories. Those go to Apple for their iPhones…or iPads. Isn’t that something? They buy our best sensors from us?”

Interestingly Sony does not supply any camera components to Apple (at least not officially). So this could only mean that Sony is providing Apple with camera sensors for iPhone 5 which is yet to be revealed, and the delay in this supply might also be the cause of reported delay of iPhone 5 itself.

In other news, an analyst from Rodman Renshaw named Ashok Kumar claimed in April 2010 that Sony will be providing 8-megapixel camera sensors for iPhone. He in the same report said that OmniVision will continue to provide 5-megapixel camera sensors for fourth generation iPhone, and that turned out to be true later on.

The new back is said to be lighter and more difficult to scratch and break, so that’s a positive step if happens to be true. Aluminum back was found on the original iPhone but Apple ditched it in the 3G models.

Apple is also said to redesign the antenna in the upcoming iPhone to avoid signal drops (duh).

iPhone 5 is said to be designed like iPod touch 4th Generation, and it looks very likely too because Apple is making its iOS line of products thinner and lighter (recently they did the same with the iPad 2) and honestly i want that to happen too.

According to a source Apple will delay the release of its next generation iPad until June this year. iPad 2 was supposed to be released in April just like its predecessor did but the news of its delay has been emerging from different sources since Steve’s leave of absence (although it has nothing to do with this). Apple introduced the original iPad in January last year and made it available in April but this is not the case with the iPad 2, as Apple has not even revealed its new tablet like it does in its typical keynote fashion.

The delay has reportedly occurred due to “production bottlenecks” at Apple’s sourced manufacturing plant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. These bootlenecks occurred because Apple reportedly changed the design of its product before the Chinese New Year.

On the other hand the release of Apple’s iPhone 5 is also said to be delayed until September, the month Apple usually updates its line of iPods in a music event.

This is what FBR Capital Analyst has to say about the iPhone 5

Berger writes, “For the iPhone 5, we continue to hear that a July launch is unlikely, with various casing suppliers and touch suppliers still ramping up, with some chip vendors not having yet received firm iPhone 5 orders, and with other sockets like the image sensor (most likely going to Omnivision exclusively, but with some potential for Sony to split that socket) still in flux. Given these factors, we think a September launch is more likely, off from Apple’s traditional iPhone launch schedule, but giving the firm more time to enhance its next-generation instant communications on the phone.”

Berger also said quoting his “contacts” that Apple is planning to build 100 million iPhones during calendar 2011, “much stronger” than Street estimates and the firm’s prior estimate of 75 million.

Apple is said to be working on this phone from months now and a person familiar with this matter has also seen prototype of this new nano device some months ago. The device is said to be sold alongside the current lineup of iPhones and is codenamed “N97″.

The new iPhone Nano will be available from carrier at half the price of the main iPhone. This report from Wall Street Journal adds more information to the news breaked by Bloomberg some days ago about the smaller and cheaper iPhone.

WSJ also reports that Apple will also give a major overhaul to its MobileMe service and will make it free for its users so that they can store their data in the cloud, currently this service costs $99 to $149 per year. Apple also made FindMyiPhone service free for iOS device owners some months ago, FindMyiPhone is a component of the MobileMe service by Apple. It is said that Apple will use the data center it bought last year for the purpose.

Update: Wall Street Journal updated their post about the iPhone Nano and MobileMe and added citing the person who saw the prototype that the new iPhone Nano will have a smaller size and is lighter than the iPhone 4. iPhone Nano will have a edge-to-edge touch screen and will also feature voice based navigation. WSJ contacted Steve Jobs over this issue but he declined to comment via email.

Here is what they added about the MobileMe service

The new service would give users access to their iTunes libraries from, say, an iPhone or iPad, instead of requiring that the devices be synced by cable with a computer and use space to store the actual files, the people said. The new service likely would be compatible with the iPhone 4, one of the people said.

Wow! isn’t that amazing…

According to a report by Bloomberg this week, Apple is working on a cheaper and smaller version of iPhone that will be sold for $200 off contract.

A mini version of the iPhone is in rumors since the release of the original iPhone. Apple has never commented, or showed interest in the smaller version of its widely popular phone. Actually Apple never needed a smaller or cheaper version of its device ever before because sales have been high all the time.

But now things are changing, manufacturers using Android OS are releasing devices of every size and price. You can get a high-end Android phone for $800 and you can get a low-end Android phone for $200. And now with Nokia’s deal with Microsoft we know a lot of Windows Phone 7 devices are going to hit the market next year and they are going to be of all sizes. In this situation iPhone mini becomes inevitable.

Everyone knows Apple’s iOS has a great market share and that is with its one and only expensive iPhone that costs around $600 off contract. A lot of customers want to buy an iPhone but they can’t or are not willing to pay that much price so they get a Nokia or cheaper Android instead.

Not only in US or in Europe, Apple could grab a huge market share in Asian countries as well if it brings a cheaper device to the table. Nokia has dominated these markets because it produces mobile phones of every size and price.

Now the question is how Apple could make a $200 device that can stand with its $600 device. The answer is simple, it has done it with its iPod touch. If you have used an iPod touch 4G you would know that it can almost do anything an iPhone 4 can except making cellular calls. It features a camera with smaller resolution, but records HD videos, it has facetime, retina display and everything else found in an iPhone. So if you say that making a device similar to a $600 device is not possible then you should think again.

So what specifications will a $200 Apple device could have, here i have compared iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G with my imaginary iPhone mini. Have a look.

With iPhone mini Apple could fulfill its dream of an Apple in every hand. With a cheaper iPhone Apple’s iOS can truly compete and beat Google’s Android OS that is growing at a very fast pace and eliminate any future concerns regarding Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 powered devices. At the moment Apple needs a mini iPhone more than ever before.

What’s your take on the concept of iPhone mini? Let us know in the comments.
