Macbook Air in my opinion is probably the best notebook computer ever produced and Chinese people know exactly what to do with such popular and expensive toys and i.e to create their knockoffs and sell them at lower prices. This Macbook Air knockoff looks exactly like the real one and even has a unibody enclosure. It is priced at 2499 yuan or $393, that is literally half the price of original Macbook Air. Of course there is no comparison between the two, i am just comparing the price difference here.

This fake Macbook Air is 100-200 grams heavier than the original model, it is also 1mm thicker.

This awesome looking knockoff lacks the iconic backlit Apple logo, that is really bad. It packs a 1.86GHz Intel Atom N2800 processor, 2GB RAM, 13.3-inch with 1366×768 LED display, 0.3-Megapixel camera for video chat, SD Card slot, WiFi, USB 2.0 ports, 3.5mm audio jack, built-in mic and a 4100mAh battery that provides 2 hours of batter life.

The build number for this release is 11C48 and it is now available for download via Mac Dev Center. This new update is intended and available for developers only.

With these betas Apple is making OS X Lion compatible with iCloud so that when it is released in the fall users don’t have to suffer problems like they did with the launch of MobileMe. iCloud will allow Mac users to store their files in the cloud, and brings services like mail, Find My Mac, Photo Stream, Contacts, Calendar, and more.

Apple recently released iOS 5 beta 7 and Dev-Team managed to jailbreak it in a short span of time. iOS 5 beta 7 was already jailbreakable with older version of RedSn0w but users had to point to iOS 5 beta 6 first in order to jailbreak it. But now users can directly jailbreak their devices with iOS 5 beta 7.

Below is the release note by iPhone Dev-Team

Update #7b: About 12 hours after we released redsn0w 0.9.8b7 with some improvements for iOS5b6, Apple went and released iOS5b7 (what are the odds of that?!?). Even though that redsn0w could still jailbreak iOS5b7, you needed to point it at the iOS5b6 IPSW to do so. Today’s redsn0w 0.9.8b7b lets you point redsn0w directly at the iOS5b7 IPSW instead.

We’ve also added some overall improvements for old-bootrom 3GS owners (where the 24kpwn exploit applies): on those devices, you can tell redsn0w to untether 4.3.5 and lower, or iOS5b7. Old-bootrom 3GS owners can once again choose custom logos, and/or verbose booting (for the really nerdy iPhone3GS fans out there!). And it allows 4.3.4 or 4.3.5 users to use ultrasn0w again (if they have a compatible baseband).

Last but not least, we fixed some lingering Verizon iPhone4 4.2.10 JB issues.

According to new rumor coming out from Apple’s Asian supply chain, Apple is planning to introduce a completely revamped line up of Macs by the end of this year. This new Mac line up would be like something never seen before and will be very different from the Macs we know today. This rumor is reported by a Japanese site macotakara.jp that claims that Apple is gearing up to introduce these new Macs with the help of the its component suppliers.

According to anonymous source in Asian supplier company, Apple seems to be preparing project to release new Mac line-up which is absolutely different from current products until end of this year.

Though this source does not told in detail, this new Mac line seems to be clearly different products from current ones, so new product name could be given.

The reports and patents about possible touch screen Macs have been making rounds on the internet from a few months now and this rumor could be an indication of what Apple has been planning for its popular desktop PC line up.

The device seen in the image above is an original Apple MacBook Pro prototype dating back to year 2007. This is not an ordinary MacBook as you can see it has a 3G antenna built right into it. It features a SIM slot too that would have allowed users with a high speed 3G connectivity if it had released publicly. The antenna on this device looks a bit ugly, but of course this is just a prototype and Apple would have replaced it with a better solution.

Sadly this product never came out of Apple’s laboratories and we still do not have a 3G enabled MacBook.

According to MacRumors this prototype, that is now up for sale on eBay, was found by its seller on Craigslist who bought this for its parts.

Upon removing the top case it was immediately clear this was no normal Macbook Pro: the circuit boards inside were bright red as opposed to the normal blue! Further inspection found multiple differences from the stock version, most notably a feature never seen in a Macbook laptop of any kind: what appears to be a fully integrated cellular modem and SIM slot. There is an extendable cellular antenna located at the right top side of the display assembly (The antenna is marked with “Tyco Proto / #006″ when slid out), and a standard size SIM card slot located underneath the memory cover on the bottom of the machine. The SIM card board is connected to the logic board via a connector not found on production machines. The solder footprint for it is still present on the production boards and not populated, which is interesting. This would seem to suggest that it was a last minute decision to remove the cellular functionality before going into mass production. The optical drive is marked as a “Sample for Evaluation”. Rather than a normal EMC Number the specifications lapel simply says “XXXX”, and the serial number does not show up in Apple’s online database.
