Apps getting more popular at iTunes than music

Asymco has released a report that suggests that not only the number of apps and song downloads are increasing every month on iTunes but app downloads are increasing even faster. The number of apps downloaded per month is so large that if we compare it with the song downloads then we will see that the app downloads now have reached (after 2.2 years of launch) where song downloads reached after 5 years of launch.

iPod Touch Firmware for iPod 5g and 5.5g

Hackers l3lack J4ck, The Revival and djdut2000 have put together yet another modified iPod firmware, this time its the iPod touch interface in your iPod 5G and 5.5 G. In fact, it has a bit of the touch and a bit of the iPod Classic, as the other screenshots show:

Obviously, it’s not going to be the same thing without real on-screen touchy-touchy action but the results seem quite good. In fact, even while it has some little bugs that are being resolved now, it looks surprisingly excellent to me. However, like all non-Apple modifications, be aware that this may void your guarantee, render your iPod useless and make lightning fall from the sky and disintegrate you.
