Impact: An attacker with a privileged network position may capture or modify data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS

Description: A certificate chain validation issue existed in the handling of X.509 certificates. An attacker with a privileged network position may capture or modify data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS. Other attacks involving X.509 certificate validation may also be possible. This issue is addressed through improved validation of X.509 certificate chains. (Source)

Apple has just released the Golder Master seed of OS X Lion to registered developers. OS X Lion is expected to release in the mid of this month. OS X Lion GM is now available for download from the Mac Dev Center. Build number for this release is 11A511. There is nothing unusual about this release as Apple does release the Golder Master Seed of its latest OS to developers ahead of the official public launch.

With OS X Lion GM, Apple has also released Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7, OS X Lion Server GM seed, and a new iCloud beta for Lion.

Rumors and reports suggest that the OS X Lion will be released in the mid of July.

There are total 58 stores available for different platforms but all of them fall short when compared to Apple’s App Store that delivers free and paid apps to the users of Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. App Store is unofficially reported to have 500,000 apps available for download through it.

Although 59 percent share is huge for a single App Store that only works for three devices when compared with 57 others, report tells that its share has declined 22 percent during the past year because of the growth in popularity of other platforms such as Android. Because of this Apple had lost 24 percent of its total download share in the second half of 2010, but that situation is now changing and Apple has stopped the decline by gaining a point and getting 58 percent of the total share of app downloads.

[thenextweb]

If you like Android’s slider icon tray style menu then you will surely like this tweak for your iOS device. AndroidLoader tweak for jailbroken iOS devices adds a button at the bottom of your screen by tapping which you can launch an icon tray that lists icons of all of your installed apps. You can either press the button or slide you finger from bottom of your screen to upper side to bring the tray up on screen. The tweak does not support iPad yet and only works on iPhone and iPod touch.

AndroidLoader also supports theme managers like WinterBoard and DreamBoard so that you can customize the look of the tray if you want to.

One problem that i felt while testing this tweak was that you would often accidentally launch the AndroidLoader icon tray by pressing the on screen button and that makes it very annoying, so only good use i found for this $2.99 tweak was to show off to friends that i have an Android like loader on my iPod – and they hated it…never mind.

AndroidLoader tweak for iPhone and iPod touch is available in the Cydia store under modmyi repo for $2.99.

Check out more tweaks for your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad here

Twitter updated its app for iOS to version 3.3 yesterday and brought some very useful changes that were welcomed by most of the users. But what people were not impressed by was a twitter trends bar at the top of the timeline. Although it can be removed with a swipe but it gets annoying when it pops up again and again.

So if you are like me and are not impressed by the new trends bar, there is a free tweak available at Cydia to remove it called Twizzler.

To install Twizzler tweak on your jailbroken iDevice, open Cydia and search for ‘Twizzler’ and click on install.

According to a report released by Nielson one out of every three iPad users has never downloaded a single app from the app store, that means that they have never installed an app on their iPad . The report says that 5% of the iPad users have only downloaded free apps and have never purchased an app from the app store.

Nielsen surveyed 5,000 owners of iPads, iPhones, Kindles and other wireless devices and discovered that 63% of the total has totally bought into the Apple (AAPL) App Store economy, purchasing games, reading books, doing their banking, planning their travels, etc.. The other 32% of the total has yet to download a single app. Not even a free one.

What i understand from this study is that either these iPad owners were non native Apple users who use iPad for just media and book reading purposes and also for browsing the web, or these users own another Apple device such as an iPhone or iPod touch so they download all the apps on those smaller devices and use the iPad as it is. But in my opinion the real magic of the iPad comes from the apps not the iPad itself.
