Opera Mini browser for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad has been updated to version 6.0.1. The update brings improved YouTube video integration, new single column view option, and a few bug fixes. This release signifies that Opera is committed to the iOS platform as Opera Mini blog says that the Opera Mini team has already started working on the 6.1 update, that will bring features found on Opera Mini of other platforms to iOS.

Here is a video i found of Youtube in which developers of Skyfire have demoed their upcoming browser for iPad. Skyfire created a stir when it was released for iPhone some months ago. Whats significant about the Skyfire browser is that it uses cloud-computing technology that translates Flash video on the fly from millions of web sites into HTML5 formats, and supports iOS devices via Apple’s HTTP live streaming standard.

Skyfire for iPad will soon hit the App Store, we will let you know as soon as it is available.

iPhone 4 Theme for Chrome is one of the best Chrome skins i have ever came across with. The theme turns the navigation bar into iPhone 4′s side style as you can see in the image below. In the upper area of the browser you can see the official iOS 4 wallpaper image has been used to make it familiar. Opera has released the first Alpha version of its Opera 11 browser. The new version of browser allows developers to upload and share their extensions with the world. Extensions that have been introduced in Opera browser for the first time will allow users to customize their browser by adding features and functionality directly into the browser itself, rather than as standalone Opera Widgets or Opera Unite applications.

Opera 11 alpha supports HTML5 server-sent events and websockets. What they do is Server-sent events allow a server to push notifications and new content to the browser in real time, while websockets allow for sophisticated communication within web applications that can allow for rich next-generation web applications and multiplayer games.

Opera has also introduced a new feature in its Opera 11 Alpha edition that is an option has now been added to have plug-ins such as Flash content load only when  you want. This is especially helpful for speeding up browsing on computers that have difficulty handling lots of plug-in content. Simply check the “Enable plug-ins only on demand” box in Preferences > Advanced.

Above is the result of tests PCWorld performed to check which of the browser is best in terms of average loading time, they tested the times browser takes to load live sites and saved sites. According to the test Skyfire 2.0 is the fastest Android browser followed by Android 2.2 Stock and Opera mini browser. Fennec Alpha proved to be the slowest with average load time of 23.8 seconds.

Guys at PocketNow have compared the web browser of Windows Phone 7 with Android and iOS’s web browsers in a video. According to PocketNow the web browser of yet to be finalized Windows Phone 7 is excellent and works at par when compared to the web experience Android’s and iOS’s browsers provide. They have also noted that scrolling, panning and zooming on this platform’s web browser is also very smooth. Please note that this hardware nor the software of the Windows Phone 7 have been finalized and are still in developing stages.
