A new messenger for iOS devices called PingMe is now available in the App Store. Available on most of the popular mobile platforms of today, PingMe allows users to chat with their friends with PingMe installed on their devices regardless of their device’s platform. With PingMe messenger you can group chat with your friends and people in your circles.

PingMe chat service is totally free of charge and does not require you to enter any username or password. Instead you just have to give your phone number while signing up and that becomes your PingMe ID.

PingMe also has a ‘news feed’ feature that brings latest updates from people in your contacts. You can also find nearby friends with Geo-Location feature of this IM messenger.

Just like any other good instant messenger you will receive push notifications on new messages and PingMe will tell you whether the person on the other end is typing something at that moment or not. You will also get Sent/Delivered/Read message notifications for your sent messages.

Adobe today has released its CreatePDF app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad in the App Store. CreatePDF brings the ability of creating high-quality PDF files to iOS devices. Adobe claims that this application creates PDF files that look exactly like the original PDF files created on a PC because this app uses the same technology as Adobe Acrobat.

With CreatePDF app for iOS you can convert email attachments or files stored in the cloud or files from any third party application and open it so into CreatePDF so that you can edit and share it.

Melon Meter app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad checks whether a Watermelon is ready for your eating pleasure or not by using the microphone of your device. According to the App Store description for this app, the developers of Melon Meter app spent 2 years on research and development for this tool.

How this app works is pretty simple, you just have to place your iPhone on a watermelon and knock on it (on the part that is nearer to your iPhone) and that’s it. The app will then analyze the data and rate your watermelon.

According to the developer of Melon Meter, a “ready” melon has a unique decay signature (the time it takes for a sound to end) that is different from the decay signature of the non-ready melon. This tool uses a software algorithm that allows the iPhone to analyze the decay rate and determine whether the melon is ready to eat or not.
