PS3 fully hacked by GeoHot

by Zaib on January 23, 2010

Hacker named George Hotz who is better known as GeoHot has claimed that he has fully hacked the Sony PS3. PS3 has remained uncompromised for more three years now, with a few exceptions but no one has been able to fully hack this  gaming console. In a post titled “Hello hypervisor, I’m geohot,” hacker George Hotz claimed the hacking of the PS3. But, this one pledges full read/write access to the entire system memory and complete control over the processor — all without a mod chip. This exploit supposedly “isn’t really patchable, but [Sony] can make implementations much harder.

This hacker is popularly known to the iPhone community as he jail breaked iPhone months ago and if he has done the hacking for the PS3 as well than we could see a firmware war starting and Sony is better known to knock these updates down!
