According to Mashable Yahoo! is preparing its app for iPhone and Android devices that will bring video calling feature to it and will allow phone to computer calls. Its OK when we talk about Android devices but when it comes to iPhone 4 it is a different story, the app has to be approved by Apple and it is up to them if they allow Yahoo! to use the Facetime camera for video calling purposes as for the moment the front camera on iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4 is exclusive to Facetime calls only.

If Apple allowed Yahoo! to run their app on iPhone 4 then we might see the beginning of a new era as of now we can only use Facetime for iPhone to iPhone calls but Yahoo! app would allow cross platform video calls and may that be on 3G network too.

Yahoo VP of Mobile David talked about their upcoming app to Reuters and added that the app would be free and is “yet-to-be approved”.

It has a good chance of being approved. Their are several other video chat apps, like Tango or Fring. They even work over 3G. Check your facts more thoroughly next time.

But do they allow PC to iPhone calls? and also do they have that huge user base like as Yahoo!'s?
