Apple has built in a very nice dictionary right into iOS 5, although it is super useful when reading an article or text but right now you cannot use it as a full fledged dictionary to check the meaning of the words that you find somewhere else. But there’s a way you can use the built-in dictionary for your personal uses if you don’t have a dictionary app installed on your device. Follow the simple steps to use your iPhone’s dictionary for your own words.
Step 1. Open Notes.app
Step 2. Tap on “+” button to add a new note
Step 3. Type the word you want to check meaning of
Step 4. Double tap on the word you just typed
Step 5. Tap on “Define” from the menu
Step 6. Enjoy!
