Apple has just launched Find My Mac service that is similar to its Find My iPhone service. As the name suggests, this new service allows users to locate their lost devices on a map. Just like Find My iPhone service, this new service for Macs allows users to remotely lock their devices, play a sound on it, wipe out data from it, and show a cust0m message on its screen.

Find My Mac locates your Mac using its Wi-Fi feature because unlike an iPhone, Macs do not have GPS installed in them.

Find My Mac service, that was officially revealed in Lion preview 4 is currently only available to developers beta testing iCloud service.
