We knew it was coming, according to Bloomberg Apple has sued Amazon over trademark infringement of the term ‘App Store’. Amazon is all set to launch its Android App market named ‘Android AppStore’. Amazon cleverly choose the name and removed the space between the words App-Store, so that it looks as a single word and does not violate Apple’s trademark. But Apple won’t let it go away that easily, as it has already filed the suit against Amazon on March 18th.

“Amazon has unlawfully used the App Store mark to solicit software developers throughout the United States,” Apple claimed in its suit.

Apple is already having a dispute against Microsoft who wants this term to be fairly used by everyone and wants the termination of the trademark  from Apple’s possession.

Amazon has been promoting its ‘Android AppStore’ with an offer, in which it is giving away Angry Birds Rio for free on the first day, after that the game will cost $0.99 to download.
