Apple has revealed its plans of replacing the current glass panes of its popular retail store at the Fifth Avenue in Manhattan with larger, seamless glass panes. The upgradation of this store that is no less than a landmark and one of the most photographed sites of Manhattan will cost $6.6  Million to Apple.

A temporary barrier has been set up in front of the store to hide the renovation work. The barrier has the following text written on it.

We’re simplifying the Fifth Avenue cube. By using larger, seamless pieces of glass, we’re using just 15 panes instead of 90.

The image above reveals a diagram of the new look of the store that shows that Apple will use three glass panes on each side of the cube, so the whole store will be made up of 15 pieces of large glasses (including the panes for the roof).
